Here at ReadySet, we love delivering interactive, thought-provoking training sessions. And today, we’re excited to announce a new companion to our learning experiences - the NewDay app. Think of it as a ReadySet coach in your pocket.
Why Build an App?
Growing on our DEI journeys is complex. We’ve internalized so much over our lifetimes from sexism to racism, agism to ableism, social roles, expectations, superiority, and the list goes on. There are personal and systemic obstacles in our way, and unlearning our biases is hard work. Not to mention the desire to “get it right” or “be perfect”. As we worked with our clients, we found that a series of questions kept coming up:
Is there a checklist of things I can do?
Where should I start with my own education? There’s so much I could learn.
How can I make sure I’m doing the right thing?
It seems so easy in class, but what happens when I’m in a sticky situation with colleagues, friends, or family?
The reality is that growing in our DEI practices is different than growing in other skill areas. There is no one-size solution we can apply in every situation, and the work involves confronting shame and the systems that perpetuate injustice. It’s no surprise that growth can be overwhelming.
All of these questions and challenges got us thinking...how could we provide even more support on learning journeys even after a class completes?
The NewDay Solution
NewDay addresses two primary concerns - tangible actions and self-reflection.
It’s intentionally designed to help our clients focus on daily action while also creating space for deliberate self-examination. We break down large concepts into bite-sized experiences that last for weeks after an engagement supporting them on the lifelong journey of allyship.
HERE’S HOW THE APP WORKS:
Daily Nudges - You’ll receive 30 days of email nudges with a recap of a concept, reflection prompts you can add to your NewDay journal, opportunities for further engagement, and special notes for managers. You can track your progress and maintain streaks in the app as well.
Peer Huddle - Learning is better when we do it in community. NewDay provides guidelines for starting a peer learning group and monthly topics for conversation.
Role Recommendations - We’ve created checklists for inclusive actions based on your role in your company.
Mini Journeys - In addition to your primary class journey, we have a whole suite of mini 7-14 day journeys to deepen your learning. As of this writing, we offer:

HOW TO GET STARTED
We currently offer two ways to get started:
DEI 101 Journey
This is our introductory app experience and ideal for organizations looking to explore how to start making DEI come alive in their workplace. DEI 101 is a 14 day experience of guided reflections on core concepts including bias, social identity, micro-aggressions, allyship, and more.
Course Companion Journeys
We provide full 30 day journeys for both our Moving from Ally to Accomplice and My Beautiful Story instructor led sessions. These journeys provide continuous learning and community post-session to recap core concepts, guide reflection, and share recommendations to deepen engagement with each topic.
In the future, you can expect even more course companion journeys from our full course portfolio. We are so excited to provide even more personalized, human-centered support to our clients with NewDay.
